A useful container quotation starts with the product, destination and arrival window. For commercial growers buying ready-to-fruit shiitake logs, the load plan also needs to match the receiving site and the batch handling instructions.
Use the product specification as the starting point
GEM’s published shiitake mushroom log specification lists a reference loading plan of 720 logs per pallet and 20 pallets per 40-foot refrigerated container: 14,400 logs in total. This is a planning reference for that product, rather than a guaranteed loading quantity for every order.
Before confirming a shipment, ask for the current packing dimensions, pallet configuration, gross weight and container plan. Product packaging, airflow requirements, container limits and route-specific restrictions must be checked for the actual order. Do not apply the shiitake quantity automatically to other mushroom species or mixed loads.
Match delivery to the receiving operation
Provide the destination country, arrival port and final delivery location. Tell us whether you need port delivery or help coordinating onward refrigerated transport. Confirm that the receiving site can unload the proposed pallets and has suitable space and equipment ready for the shipment.
Choose an arrival window that fits your growing-room schedule. Include time for local clearance and inland transport when discussing the plan with your logistics provider. The quotation should identify which transport stages are included and who is responsible for each handover.
Confirm handling and documents before dispatch
Request the handling instructions for the actual batch, including the agreed transport conditions and the steps to follow after arrival. A generic storage temperature or calendar cannot replace the supplier’s batch instructions.
